Liz Afolabi is member of the Trademarks practice group at Bereskin & Parr LLP. Her practice focuses on trademark prosecution, opposition proceedings, summary expungement proceedings, infringement opinions and related litigation. She also advises on copyright and new media law, and regulatory, marketing and advertising matters.
She has appeared before the Trademarks Opposition Board and has assisted on trademark matters heard before the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal.
Liz is an adjunct professor at Western University, where she teaches a masters level engineering course on Intellectual Property. She has also served as a mentor to teams participating in Startup Weekend Waterloo Region, and has presented as a guest lecturer at the University of Waterloo and the University of Windsor.
Liz was also a recipient of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) Educational Foundation Prize for achieving the highest mark overall in the Canadian Trademark Agent Examination.
