Tamara Céline Winegust
Tamara Céline Winegust is an associate at Bereskin & Parr LLP and a member of the Copyright & Digital Media and Trademarks practice groups. Her practice focuses on trademarks, copyright & digital media, licensing, marketing and advertising law, in addition to litigation.
Tamara graduated summa cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, ranking first in her class. While at American University Washington College of Law, Tamara earned multiple awards and scholarships, participated in various Moot Court competitions, and was highly involved in the intellectual property law community. At the University of Ottawa, Tamara gained valuable experience as a research assistant on various copyright issues to Professor Michael Geist, one of the most influential people on intellectual property in Canada and internationally.
Tamara is a frequent writer on various areas in her field, having contributed to the Washington College of Law Intellectual Property Blog, and written a paper on the intersection of cloud computing, content streaming, and copyright, which was published by the American University Intellectual Property Brief in 2012.
Prior to being admitted to the Bar, Tamara was an articling student with the firm, and summered with the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, DC. She was awarded the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada’s (IPIC) Education Foundation Prize for achieving the highest mark overall in the 2015 Canadian Trade-mark Agent Qualifying Examination.
