Stanley’s practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution with an emphasis on software and information technology innovations. He is also able to advise on issues arising in cyberspace and other digital media.
After obtaining his bachelors degree in computer science, Stanley gained valuable insight into both the high technology and the telecommunication industries by working as a technology analyst for a leading Canadian telecommunications service provider.
Stanley is very active in a number of business and community organizations in the Waterloo Region, particularly those where young high tech entrepreneurs and start-ups gather to foster innovations contributing to the growth of the region. Stanley serves as the Vice-President of the Board of Directors for the Kitchener Waterloo Multicultural Center and is also involved in supporting and promoting local artists as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Neruda Productions.
Stanley has been called upon to provide presentations and lectures on various aspects of patent and high-tech law at a number of universities including the University of Waterloo, Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Guelph, and Ryerson University.
Prior to being admitted to the bar, Stanley was an articling student with the firm.
