Michael Fenwick

Mike Fenwick is a partner with Bereskin & Parr LLP and a member of the firm's Life Sciences practice group.

With an advanced degree in chemistry, Mike's practice focuses on chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology patents. As a registered US and Canadian patent agent, Mike works with companies small and large to prepare and prosecute chemical patent applications worldwide. Mike also conducts validity and freedom to operate opinions with respect to chemical patents.

While completing his M.Sc. at the University of Toronto, Mike conducted research in the areas of physical and synthetic organic chemistry and has co-authored articles that have appeared in the Journal of Organic Chemistry, Organic Letters and the European Journal of Organic Chemistry. Mike then obtained his law degree at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Mike also currently writes a regular column title "Intellectual Matters" in the Canadian Chemical News, and regularly speaks on patent matters.

97th Canadian Chemistry Conference Exhibition

Patricia Folkins, Mike Fenwick and Andrea Berenbaum will be attending the 97th Canadian Chemistry Conference and Exhibition.

The event will focus on “Chemistry from Sea to Sky”, which will include all disciplines of chemistry from fundamental research to “blue sky” applications, as well as global chemical scientific interactions and collaborations. 

Canadian Society for Chemistry (CSC) is a national, not-for-profit, professional association that unites chemistry students and professionals who work in industry, academia and government.

Patricia, Mike and Andrea have also organized a Symposium on Wednesday, June 4 to discuss significant intellectual property matters that affect the chemical industry. The Symposium will include industry leaders and legal experts in the field.
