Catherine Lovrics
B.A, LL.B. Catherine’s practice focuses on trademarks, copyright, new media, privacy, consumer protection, and marketing and advertising law, as well as domain names.
While earning her law degree, Catherine was the recipient of several awards including the Osgoode Society Prize for Canadian Legal History for overall academic excellence throughout her legal studies. She also received awards in the areas of e-commerce and technology law, medical-legal issues, and business law. Catherine graduated from law school magna cum laude, and was the recipient of the Dean’s Award for her graduating class. She has completed a course in International Trademark Law from John Marshall Law School.
Catherine is a member of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada's (IPIC) Domain Names & Trade-marks on the Internet, Copyright Policy, and Alternative Dispute Resolution Committees. She is also a member of the Ontario Bar Association's (OBA) Entertainment, Media and Communications and Privacy Sections.
Catherine is the author of numerous articles and the recipient of the 2010 Lexology Legal Writing Award in the category for Author of the Year for E-Commerce Canada.
Prior to being admitted to the Bar, Catherine was both a summer student and articling student with the firm.
