Profile

Shawn Jacka is a partner with Bereskin & Parr. He is a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States and a registered Trade Mark Agent in Canada.

Shawn attended the University of Toronto where he received a B.Sc. in computer science and his law degree. After his call to the Bar in 1995, Shawn articled at a Toronto law firm and then joined Bereskin & Parr, where he has applied his technical training to assist clients in the management of computer-related intellectual property through licensing, trade mark, copyright and patent law.

Shawn has assisted many high-tech start-up companies and multinational corporations develop and maintain their intellectual property portfolios. He is a member of the firm's software/high technology, licensing, and litigation groups.

Shawn's interests include various aspects of motorcycling and he is a member of the Canadian Motorcycle Association.
