Profile

Sandra Beauchesne is a patent associate with Bereskin & Parr and works out of the firm’s Montréal office.

Sandra obtained a B.Sc. in electrical engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal. In addition to being a registered patent agent in both Canada and the United States, Sandra is a member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).

Prior to joining Bereskin & Parr, Sandra spent ten years with an international communications solutions company where she gained extensive patent experience, specifically relating to telecommunications, wireless communications and software. As head of the company's Canadian patent group, Sandra was responsible for managing its patent portfolio, which included procurement, licensing, and enforcement strategies, as well as the drafting and prosecuting of patents. In addition, she was responsible for the training and management of the patent staff.

Coming from an in-house environment, Sandra has extensive experience in intellectual property management strategies and portfolio management from the owner's perspective, and in fostering a patent culture within an organization.

As a member of the firm’s software/high technology practice group, Sandra’s practice will continue to focus on telecommunications, wireless technology and software patents.
