Profile
Robin Coster is of counsel with Bereskin & Parr and works out of the firm's Mississauga office. He is a registered patent and trade mark agent in Canada and a registered patent agent in the United States.
Robin holds a B.Sc. in physics from the University of Toronto and a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. He was a partner with Bereskin & Parr prior to joining the partnership of an international business law firm where he helped to establish its IP practice and head its IP Financial Services and IP Management groups. During that time, Robin acted as IP advisor on a number of Canada's major corporate transactions and advised a number of Canada's leading companies on their IP strategy.
Robin's practice focuses on strategic planning and management of IP assets including patents, designs and trade marks and related drafting and prosecution, licensing and opinions. He advises clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, computer systems and software, alternative energies and manufacturing, on strategies for protecting and exploiting IP assets and assesses the IP portfolios of competitors, potential acquisitions and licensors.
