Profile

Noel Courage is a partner with Bereskin & Parr.

Noel is a lawyer and a registered Canadian and U.S. patent agent in the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceuticals practice group. Noel has a B.Sc. in biochemistry from Memorial University of Newfoundland and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University. While attending Memorial University, Noel worked as a research assistant in the biochemistry department. At Dalhousie, Noel received prizes for academic excellence in patent and trade mark law and, contract law. Noel has worked exclusively in intellectual property firms and joined Bereskin & Parr in 2002.

Noel's practice focuses on the patenting and licensing of chemical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, IT and mechanical inventions. He also provides opinions on patent validity and infringement issues. He has experience in regulatory, trade mark and copyright law and provides advice on IP portfolio management strategy.
