Profile
Micheline Gravelle is a partner with Bereskin & Parr and heads the firm's biotechnology and pharmaceutical practice group.
Micheline is a patent agent registered to act before the Canadian and United States Patent Offices. She has work experience in the chemistry, microbiology, immunology and molecular biology fields and has worked in the industry for multi-national companies, government agencies and in a Toronto hospital laboratory.
Through the years Micheline has been consistently ranked as a leading biotechnology practitioner by both the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and the Lexpert/ALM Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada. In addition, she authored “Recent Developments in Biotechnology” for both the 2004 and 2005 editions of the aforementioned publications.
Micheline has co-authored several articles that have appeared in scientific journals including, “The Journal of Immunology”, “The European Journal of Immunology” and “The Journal of the Association of Analytical Chemists”. She also regularly speaks on intellectual property matters in biotechnology at related conferences.
Micheline is a member of the Advisory Board of the Ontario Partnership for Innovation and Commercialization (OPIC). She holds the title of Visiting Researcher, Bio IP Course, Department of Medical Genome Sciences, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences at the University of Tokyo. Micheline spent ten years on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Spinal Research Organization and is a past-chair of their research committee.
