Profile

Leah Begleiter Rodin is an associate with Bereskin & Parr and a registered Canadian and U.S. patent agent.

She obtained an Honours B.Sc. from the University of Manitoba and an M.Sc. in chemistry from the University of Toronto. While earning her M.Sc., Leah's research included a methodology for polymer-supported synthesis towards combinatorial chemistry.

Prior to joining Bereskin & Parr, Leah worked with a North American pharmaceutical development company first as a chemist in the lab and later as a patent associate in the legal department where she drafted, prosecuted and managed foreign and domestic filings for the company's chemistry patent portfolio. In 2006, Leah was the recipient of IPIC’s Marie Morency Memorial Prize, which is awarded to the person who achieves the highest mark on the patent drafting section of the patent agent qualifying exam.

As a member of both the firm’s biotechnology and pharmaceutical as well as chemical practice groups, she will assist in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications in the areas of pharmaceuticals, organic chemistry, environmental technology, polymer chemistry, and nanotechnology.
