Profile

Laurence MacPhie is an associate lawyer with Bereskin & Parr and works out of the firm's Montréal office.

Laurence holds a B.Sc. in biochemistry from the University of Waterloo, a Ph.D. in human genetics from Oxford University and a law degree from the University of Toronto. He completed an internship with a Japanese pharmaceuticals company, and researched the genetics of complex traits as part of his graduate studies. Laurence has co-authored several publications in journals such as Nature Genetics, Molecular Psychiatry and The American Journal of Human Genetics.

Laurence was both a summer student and an articling student with Bereskin & Parr. His practice focuses on patents for biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical innovations.
