Her practice includes Internet related intellectual property issues, such as domain name issues, copyright content issues, and advertising issues arising from Internet commerce.

She is a frequent writer and lecturer on issues involving trade marks, domain names and copyright law in Canada and the United States. Cynthia lectures on advanced trade mark matters at a joint program sponsored by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and McGill University, and has been a part-time lecturer in both the LLM in Intellectual Property and E-Commerce courses at Osgoode Hall Law School. She has also lectured on IP issues in a University of Toronto course on web-site development.

She was also selected to appear in the 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of IP law and has received particular commendation for her portfolio management work.

Cynthia served as President of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) from 2005 to 2006 and currently chairs IPIC’s Trade Mark Legislation Committee. She has chaired and served on numerous committees involved in trade mark law, Internet and domain name law, and international trade mark protection.
