New Tax Measures Foster IP Acquisition - Québec Budget
Bereskin & Parr is pleased to announce that due to changes introduced in the Québec budget, companies will now be able to enhance their intellectual property management as a result of a new tax credit on intellectual property-related activities. Eligible companies can now benefit from financial assistance, which includes:
Non-refundable contribution: up to 40% of eligible expenditures (maximum $50,000)
Eligible expenditures: professional fees and research expenses to obtain patents and protect intellectual property, as well as IP licensing activities.
France Côté, a partner with Bereskin & Parr in Montréal, was at the forefront of this change. France was an active member of Conseil de l'Innovation Biopharmaceutique de BioQuébec, which was instrumental in crafting the measures presented in the Québec Budget Speech on Thursday, April 21, 2005.
France is particularly proud to see these measures come into effect as they will be invaluable to Québec's business community.
We invite you to learn more about how you can benefit from the IP tax credit by contacting our professionals in the Montréal office.
